I don't believe it that much. At least...I think at least one of them is even fooling the others. There's evidence to suggest that.

Well, Virid told others that a leader had told him that murder could return memories, which is like...how would you know that? Why would you say that, unless you wanted him to try it out? And one of them is writing a diary. I don't know if it was with this group, or a previous one, but...they were able to remove their mask for others. It seems the Leaders are potentially unaware of that. Both the mask thing and the diary.

So like you said, there's at least one among them that's encouraging this. My Leader was unable to completely deny that memory claim, and said it really might be likely, but couldn't be confirmed without... well.
