Oh. [A beat.] Sounds like a load of fun.

[His tone is very dry as he walks over to sit down, crosslegged, near her. Treasure follows, slumping against Hansa's side.]

Sure. Talk away. I'm...still trying to piece together my thoughts about what I went through, myself.

[misstrust]

[ But she smiles at them both, careful to shake her head to avoid triggering another bout of lightheadedness. ]

Taako, Miss Yoshizawa, Rufus and I found ourselves across the bridge earlier today. We took two different paths at the beginning, but it seems they both resulted in ending at a school for graduation.

[robopriest]

A school? And you were graduating?

[Ah. Graduation, huh......something twitches in his expression, but he keeps lightly smiling.]

I guess that hit a littler closer to home than for the rest, huh?

Not... in the way you might expect. The emphasis seemed to be more about faith.

What, was it like Catholic school?

With an actual church in the beginning, yes. Then it was a series of classrooms. Rufus and I had to talk about faith and gods and forgiveness.

[ Yep. Poor Rufus had to answer questions. ]

[Wow! This would be a really interesting thing if Hansa was a priest [MEMORY NOT FOUND]!]

...I'm guessing Rufus didn't have a good time with that.

I couldn't presume to speak for him.

ALSO WHY DO YOU FORGET THIS WEEK WHEN SHE WANTS TO KNOW IF PRIESTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ALARMING. ]

And you? You don't sound all that enthused.

Faith in anything besides myself has never gotten me anywhere.

Did you come from a religious family, Dorothy? Or were involved with it before?

No, not quite. I suppose I did my nightly prayers when I was younger, before things changed.

[ And then she'd had to look after herself. ]

My father lost his hand and turned to drinking and abuse. My mother left us both.

[ she says it very flatly. ]

...I'm sorry. That's horrible.

[ She smiles, a little humorlessly. ]

I just don't think prayers or reaching out for help accomplished much. So I didn't give them the answers they wanted.
