I don't have to be spared. When you take a life, you take on a certain responsibility.

Even if they didn't solve any of it... I still killed someone. I was discovered. And now, I'll take responsibility.

If people who were convicted but were innocent weren't spared, why should I be?

But isn't it ironic, though, that of the people who have been put for "removal" it's only the innocent people that have died? Aside from Shima, anyway.

... I only know of a few, so I can't really say. I do believe that a chess piece is likely responsible for those prevented executions, however.
