[tiny horse...but he laughs a little awkwardly and rubs the back of his head.]

It sort of felt fitting, you know? I couldn't come to the castle in my other stuff without feeling out of place. [sometimes...you are used to costume changes. but sora and his dragon thing begin to approach the gazebo.] Mind if we join you?

[misstrust]

[ Tiny horse perks up and begins trotting over to happily headbutt Sora in the chest before he gets too far-- and Dorothy laughs. ]

Feel free! I'd love the company.

[reconnective]

[he immediately loves this horse, and though there's a surprised sort of "oof!" he's stopping right away to pat the horse's nose. the dream eater's already scuttling over to dorothy in the gazebo, squawking eagerly. yes, hello, we're here now.

once sora gets in the required amount of pets though he'll walk ahead to join her, sword set to the side and out of the way.]

This might be my second favorite place so far. [he's very okay with being a fairytale prince for the time being.]

[misstrust]

Was the first the pirate area? For the ocean?

[ As she gives the dragon a pat or several. The horse seems content and trots away to graze again. ]

[reconnective]

[the pats are nice and the creature curls up next to her for more of them.]

The first was the pirate port, yeah. I still miss it and it's been weeks.

[misstrust]

Perhaps next week, we'll get a tropical island.

[ That they'll hopefully both be alive for. ]

I didn't expect you'd be such a fan of princes and castles though, I admit.

[reconnective]

Maybe. If we do? I probably won't go back to the inn at all. [his island!!!! also dorothy better stay alive or so help me. but there's a somewhat shy grin at that.]

I guess it's just familiar to me. I've been to a few castles before and...I don't know. It's a nice idea. Princesses deserve to be happy, don't they?

[he says. having met lots of princesses.] And Donald and Goofy are from a royal court under the King anyway.

... That they do. [ The Princess she and Ange know certainly does.

But then Dorothy blinks, slowly tilting her head. ]

You have a friend named Goofy?

[reconnective]

Yeah. He's the Captain of the knights for King Mickey's court. We've been traveling together for a while now. [and she didn't ask, but:] Donald's the royal magician.

[misstrust]

[ Goofy, though... ]

... Wait, you're traveling with a knight and a-- magician? For what purpose?

[reconnective]

...oh. I guess I never really told you, huh? [oops.] Donald and Goofy were sent out by the king to look for the Keyblade. It's a weapon I have, it's the weapon that these creatures called the Heartless are afraid of. The darkness can be fought with it. It's...a sword shaped like a large key, but it helps with my magic and can take on different forms, too. The Heartless are creatures that're born when people lose their hearts to the darkness.

Originally the king wanted to find the Keyblade in order to use it to seal Kingdom Hearts. If we didn't close the door to the Realm of Darkness, darkness would flood out and destroy all of the worlds that were left. So with the Keyblade, we traveled to a bunch of places that were invaded by Heartless in order to destroy them and lock those worlds' hearts to keep them safe. We didn't learn until later that there was a much bigger problem, so...our journey kept going even while we were trying to find the king and my friends Riku and Kairi.

[misstrust]

[ Just.

Just give her a minute to process all of that, because judging from the look on her face, that's a lot. ]

[reconnective]

[...there's an awkward laugh.]

I know. It's kind of hard to believe, but it's true.

[misstrust]

You did mention Peter Pan, I think... I shouldn't be surprised.

[reconnective]

Probably not. [he laughs a little.] There's a lot of worlds out there, Dorothy. One for every star in the sky. So it doesn't surprise me that your world sees things and people differently.

[like where Peter Pan is just a story.]

[misstrust]

It honestly boggles me that you've been to so many.

[ She could be envious. ]

[reconnective]

I didn't think about the part where it's so uncommon. [and then people started questioning him here and he went "oh. right."] It was weird when I first started, but now it's weirder not to, if that makes sense? Like I don't know how I can stay in one place for so long anymore.

[misstrust]

Ah, I see. Well, I've heard that once you start traveling, it's difficult to think of returning to more peaceful days.

[reconnective]

Yeah. [...] We also didn't really have much choice because things kept threatening the safety of all of those worlds out there. So we kept traveling further and further to protect them.

But things are finally okay.

[misstrust]

No more threats, then?

[ Until KH4-- ]

[reconnective]

...um...[well. about that.] For now? I don't think so. Things have been quiet for a while.

[he does not mention it's partially because he's dead.]

[misstrust]

[ A Smile. ]

So I do believe at some point, you mentioned you had died.

[reconnective]

[...]

Something like that, yeah. I guess. [sometimes these things happen.]

[misstrust]

"Something like that"?

[ Sora, explain. ]

[reconnective]

...it's this place called the Final World where sleep and death overlap. People go there when their bodies and hearts have perished. I've been there for a while now. I don't think there's a way for me to leave yet, but there might be someday.
